Dr. Adam Carter

B.App.Sc Chiropractic
Principal Chiropractor

Adam Carter is the principal chiropractor at Carter Chiropractic and Dubbo Acupuncture Centre, having founded the Clinic in March 1987 as Carter Chiropractic in Brisbane Street Dubbo. Adam was born in Dubbo NSW and grew up on a grazing property between Dubbo and Yeoval, attending school at South Dubbo Primary and High Schools.

A Chiropractic career became inevitable for Adam during his high school days, initially attending a chiropractor for cracking noises in his neck, Adam quickly noted the wider benefits of Chiropractic as a life time issue with bed wetting and headaches was rapidly resolved through Chiropractic care. The benefits of Chiropractic care was familiar to Adam's family with his father a loyal Chiropractic patient referred by a Medical Doctor for help and with a brother and cousin both practicing Chiropractors, Adam's career was predestined.

Graduating from what was the first five (5) year University Chiropractic degree in Australia, at what is now RMIT University in Melbourne, Adam returned to Dubbo to establish the clinic in 1987.

Adam is a foundation member of the Chiropractic Association of Australia and has a special interest in Neurology and further enhances his knowledge through post graduate courses and regular professional continual education.

The belief that all people from the new born to the elderly should receive lifetime supportive chiropractic care to maximise their spinal mobility and the function of their nervous system to achieve optimal health and enjoyment of life is integral part of Adam's daily chiropractic paradigm.

Raisa Kolesnikova

Master of Applied Science (Acupuncture)
Master of Applied Science (Chinese Herbal Medicine with Honors)

Raisa Kolesnikova is our Acupuncturist, she is the only university trained acupuncturist and Chinese Herbal Medicine practitioner in Dubbo NSW. Raisa completed a nursing degree at Sydney university and practiced as a nurse until she realised she could personally aid more people’s quality of life as a practitioner and took up her postgraduate education at RMIT University in Melbourne, studying the 3-year acupuncture program and then completing the 3-year Chinese Herbal medicine degree and graduating with honours.

Having grown up in Western China, Raisa was culturally and practically well aware of the health benefits of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine and this with her western medical health training was an obvious career choice.

In 2004 Raisa joined the team at Carter Chiropractic, Raisa has a keen interest in the management of pain with Acupuncture, but is most excited with the health changes achieved in an amazing variety of conditions with the utilisation of both Acupuncture and herbs.

People need to be aware that Acupuncture is a full 5-year undergraduate degree or a 3-year postgraduate degree, it unlike the 2 weekend dry needling courses studied by chiropractors and physiotherapists that many believe to be acupuncture.

All Acupuncturists and Chinese herbal medicine practitioners are registered by AHPRA to ensure their standards of knowledge and continual education, just like medical practitioners and chiropractors.

Dr Madison Ryan

M.Chiro. B.Chiro.Sc.
Chiropractor

Dr Madison (Maddi) has been receiving Chiropractic care since she was just three days old and she hasn’t missed an appointment since. Having grown up surrounded by chiropractors her whole life, her passion for chiropractic grew from a very young age. She was immediately fascinated by how manually moving the spine and surrounding joints could facilitate such positive changes within the body, specifically our nervous system.

Maddi completed her 5 year Chiropractic degree at Macquarie University in Sydney. She went on to teach Anatomy at Macquarie for 3 years prior to moving to Dubbo. Luckily enough for Maddi, her passion for education will be further explored here in Dubbo as she teaches medical students at the School of Rural Health.

For the most part of her life Maddi grew up in Young NSW. Having grown up rurally, she is aware of the limited accessibility to holistic healthcare that can come with living in rural NSW. Maddi is excited to be able to offer a holistic approach to your care, one that looks at all elements of your health.

Maddi’s passion for chiropractic comes from her understanding that everything we need to heal comes from within us. The concept that she can correct pain and dysfunction without adding or taking anything from the body is what makes her so excited about chiropractic. Maddi has a focus on finding the root cause of her patient symptoms & treats on the basis that symptoms can stem from structural, chemical and/or emotional sources. She applies techniques such as Applied Kinesiology (AK) & Neuro-emotional Technique (NET) to help decipher & treat the primary cause of her patients symptoms.

She attributes much of her health, wellness & pain-free life to a lifetime of chiropractic care. It is for this reason that Maddi is passionate about using chiropractic as an early intervention, especially in our littlies. She is passionate about sharing the impact that chiropractic has had on her life & is excited to be the person that can do that for other people.
